Along with the Viale Marconi which extends it, this is the broad venue of the seaside resort along the seafront: on both sides there are pavilions and chalets representative of the Liberty and Art Deco styles, much in vogue in the 1920s. The Great Margheritha Cafe with Baroque domes is illustrative of that era when Viareggio was a world renowned resort while the Martini chalet is the only evidence of the wooden pavilions which were the originals in the resort prior to the fire of 1917.
