The palace belonged to the Vitti family, the owners of a marble, stone and alabaster factory which was the most renowned in Volterra. One of the Vittis, Giuseppe, an alabaster merchant, was also Vizier and Emir of Nepal! There are attractive collections of Chinese designs and porcelain and walls arrestingly decorated with stencils.
