This is an impressive construction from the 16C, formerly the seat of the representatives of the Most Serene Republic of Venice. An esplanade from which there is an attractive view over the town and over the Frioul precedes it. To the side, surmounted by the Archangel Gabriel is the 13C church of St Mary of the Castle (S. Maria del Castello), which has a Descent from the Cross, a fresco also from the 13 C
