This simple and austere 16C palace belonged to a family from Morea in the Peleponnese who produced several doges and Cristofero Moro, the unfortunate husband of Desdemona Barbarigo, the inspiration for Shakespeare’s Othello. It is situated on the far side of the Rio Malpaga, which also has the charming little Palazzo Stern, with a garden onto the Grand Canal.
