Known as the school of the Dalmatians or the “Slavonians” (Schiavoni), the foundation dates from 19 May 1451 when a decree of the Council of Ten approved its statutes and rules. The small interior has the Sts George, Tryphon and Jerome cycle, a masterpiece by Vittore Carpaccio, who is inextricably linke to this place (as Tintoretto is to the Scuola di San Rocco). Each scene has a wealth of detail, some humourous, some fantastical, always depicted in warm tones.
