Dating from the 14 C, stuck to the Palazzo della Ragione (or Town hall), this brick and stone tower with an octagonal crown, has a superb view over the roofs and belfries of the pink town coiled up in a meander of the River Adige. To get to the top, a staircase... or a lift that grinds, puffs, squeaks and cracks, seemingly as old as the tower.
