A thriving industrial and commercial centre, Vicenza is a hub for traditional textile production and the gold and jewellery, mechanical engineering and chemical industries. It is also a major crossroads linking the Veneto and Trentino regions. But for art lovers, Vicenza is above all the city of Palladio, the architect of palaces, villas and the Teatro Olimpico.
