It is only right that this main route through the centre of Vicenza should be named after the architect. Many palaces were in fact built by him of his pupils: there is the Chiericati palace, at no. 147, the Da Schio palace in the Gothic Venetian style (once known as the Ca' d'Oro), the Thiene palace (facade overlooking the Contra... S. Gaetano Thiene), the Porto-Barbaran palace, the Trissino palace (no. 98) and the solemn Valmarana palace built in 1566 next to the Corso Fogarazzo.
