Named after its red cliff dotted with grottoes, this delightful site overlooking the sea and Menton, is outstanding from an archaeological point of view. Excavation has unearthed the remains of elephants, hippopotamus, marmots, reindeer, and some human remains and objects, including small statues of “Venus”. A museum presents the site, on which the presence of mankind can be traced back over 240,000 years.
