Cala Luna, south of the Grotta del Bue Marino, has fine white sand on the beaches and coarser, multicoloured sand beneath the green sea; the bay stretches out at the foot of a cliff face punctuated with eight spectacular grottos affording some welcome shade. It is possible to go horse-riding around the nearby lake, which is lined with laurel-roses. Some scenes of Lina Wertmüller's 1974 film Swept Away by an Unusual Destiny in the Blue Sea of August were filmed on this beach.
