Inuyama
: Michelin's recommendations
To the northwest of Aichi Prefecture lies Inuyama, a sleepy little town on the banks of the River Kiso which boasts Japan's oldest castle. It is worth spending a day here to explore the picturesque streets, the temples and shrines, and the nearby Meiji-mura Park. From June to September, every evening from 5pm, cormorant fishing demonstrations are held on the Kiso River. Visitors can watch while they dine aboard a flat-bottomed boat.
