Stationed at the estuary of the Nishiki River, Iwakuni is famous for its wooden bridge with five pretty cambered arches. In the samurai quarter you can visit the remarkable cemetery with whitewashed fences and the Art Museum. Housed in a traditional residence, it has stunning collections of weapons and armour, the trappings of the legendary warriors whose every gesture was meant to be a "masterpiece".
