Kamikochi
: Michelin's recommendations
Kamikochi is a mountain village (1 500m) in the heart of the national park of the Japan Alps, which is all the better preserved for being exclusively pedestrian. Walkers can look forward to taking on the summits that stand higher than 3 000m above sea level, and rock climbers have a number of suitable options available to them. In the valley of Azusa-gawa, where you can see the winding river that bathes Kamikochi, there are walks for those of all levels along two clearly marked tracks.
