Twenty-Six Martyrs Memorial Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Twenty-six Christians – 6 foreigners and 20 Japanese – were forced to walk from Kyoto to this Japanese Golgotha on Nishizaka Hill, where they were crucified on 5 February 1597. This monument was built in 1962 to pay homage to the Christian martyrs, a century after their canonisation. The little museum at the rear recounts the history of Nagasaki's "Hidden Christians".
