Idemitsu Museum of Arts Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Established in 1966 by Sazo Idemitsu, founder of the eponymous large oil company, this museum is renowned for the quality of its temporary exhibitions. Its collection includes some very fine Japanese pieces (Hizen porcelain, masterpieces by the painter Sengai etc), as well as work by Western artists. Among the latter is the world's largest private collection of works by painter Georges Rouault (1871-1958). There are no fewer than 400 of his pieces including his "Grand Testament", the incredible Miserere.
