Itchiku Kubota Art Museum Highly Recommended Highly Recommended Highly Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

The kimono has 1 000 years of history and neatly summarises the Japanese aesthetic of purity and elegance based along simple lines. The kimonos on display in the Art Museum in an exquisite collection entitled "Symphony of Lights" are the work of a master of the art, Itchiku Kubota (1917-2003). Made using modern techniques, but respectful of thousand-year-old tradition, the painstaking work of the artist is on show in a pyramid-shaped structure supported by the trunks of 16 cypress trees.
