Phu Si (at an altitude of 100m) is the sacred mountain of Luang Prabang. Its 300 steps lead to the That Chomsi and its gilded stupa, from where there is a view of the town and the Mekong river, which is especially romantic at sunset. On the other side of the hill stand the ruins of Vat Pha Phutthabaht, which house a footprint of Buddha.
