Named Sainte-Marie by the Portuguese, Nosy Boraha resembles an exclamation mark in the sea, extending for 50km off the coast of Madagascar as far as the Île aux Nattes. It is a truly idyllic spot, with its scent of cloves, turquoise water, fine sandy beaches, luxuriant vegetation and humpback whales which come here to mate in July and August.
