Bank of China Tower
Bank of China Tower
: Michelin's recommendations
Opened in 1990, the Bank of China Tower was designed by I. M. Pei, the architect of the Pyramid at the Louvre Museum. The tower resembles a pile of slender triangles and is intended to represent a bamboo shoot. Those who attach importance to symbols are pleased with the tower, as bamboo symbolises prosperity in China. Feng Shui followers, however, are not as happy as they consider the corners of the building to be too sharp. Made of glass which reflects its surroundings, this unusual tower stands at a height of 369m, including the antennae at the top.
