Amid the frenetic urban activity and high-rise buildings of Hong Kong, it’s easy to forget that the city has several beaches - the remains of long swathes of sand that are now buried under the concrete. The beach at Deep Water Bay is popular mainly with locals, while Repulse Bay, a stone’s throw away, is another good spot for swimming. Although there are sharks in the sea here, the swimming areas are protected by shark nets.
