Man Mo Temple Highly Recommended Highly Recommended Highly Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

The popular sanctuary of Man Mo Temple has a highly charged spiritual atmosphere made all the more evocative by its clouds of fragrant incense smoke. The temple is dedicated to the deities Man Cheong and Kuan Ti. The former is the protector of public officials (a statue holding a brush), while the latter is a warrior (statue holding a sabre). The temple therefore honours both the world of literature – associated in China with the mandarinate – and the military. This temple is thought to be one of the oldest in Hong Kong (c 1840). Its furnishings and statues all come from the Chinese mainland.
