Every winter solstice the emperor would come to the temple to worship heaven and pray for a good harvest. One of Beijing's most visited sites, the Temple of Heaven is also China's largest temple and altar complex and an extraordinary example of architecture that dates back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
A special treat awaits you at the temple where you'll enjoy a traditional Chinese tea ceremony in the temple's tea house. On the return to your hotel, you will have the option to stop at the Pearl Market.
