Housed in a delightful traditional medicine shop (1874), the Museum of Chinese Medicine occupies the rooms adjoining the inner courtyard. Engraved wood portraits of the major masters of Chinese medicine hang in the entrance staircase, while the bust of the “King of Medicine”, Sun Simiao (581-682), can be seen in the first room. The museum provides information on the basic principles of Chinese medicine, as well as the preparation methods (with demonstrations) and the main ingredients used.
