Founded in 2000, Chung Tai Chang Monastery is something of a town within the town and its size as well as its excessive but refined luxury come as a surprise. The Hall of 10 000 Buddhas houses a seven-storey pagoda, and the four-storey-high Buddha seated in the Great Hall of Illumination exudes an overwhelming sense of serenity.
