St Paul Cathedral, constructed at the turn of the 18C by Lorenzo Gafa, vies with the Co-Cathedral in Valletta in terms of sheer splendour. With its emblematic dome, it is the must-see sight of Mdina. Be sure to see the frescoes by Mattia Preti in the choir and to visit the cathedral museum nearby.
