Grand'Rivière
: Michelin's recommendations
Grand’Rivière, the northernmost village of Martinique, is particularly isolated. A winding road leads you through the tropical forest and over two rivers to this village, sheltered from the wind at the foot of Mount Pelée, opposite the island of Dominica, only 35km only. The village's main activity is fishing, illustrated by the picturesque gommiers, colourful fishing boats pulled up on the black sandy beach, next to the fish market. It is possible to swim in Grande Rivière, which cuts the village, after which it is named, in two.
