The botanic and floral Ombrages trail, which runs alongside the ravine of Capot River, is located on the site of the former Sancé rum factory. All around are fig trees and hundred-year-old Bombacaceae trees, whose roots can reach 1.20m in height. At the lower level of the hygrophile forest, the undergrowth is spectacular, thanks to the countless multicoloured ornamental plants. Half-way round you will see a Creole garden devoted to subsistence farming, and home to edible and medicinal plants, as well as the remains of former crops (cocoa and kassav).
