Le François
: Michelin's recommendations
Renowned for its Fonds-Blancs, low-lying sandbanks responsible for the beautiful colour of the sea, Le François developed thanks to the Franciscan monks that grew cocoa here. Today the village relies essentially on banana crops and fishing. If you come here in spring or summer, you may be lucky enough to see one of the immensely popular yole regattas because Le François is one of the ports of call of the Tour de la Martinique and the Tour des yoles rondes, both of which give rise to enthusiastic festivities in the port and on the beach.
