Curepipe : Michelin's recommendations

Curepipe is midway between Mahébourg and Port Louis. It was the ideal place for troops crossing the island from East to West to take a break and use the time to clean their pipes, thus the name. Don’t be discouraged by all the rain that falls on this highest town in the central plateau. Instead, have a peek at Forest Hill, a neighbourhood in the southeast part of town with lovely colonial houses. It also boasts a fine 19C town hall and botanical garden.
