At the tip of Pointe d’Esny the road opens onto a pretty bay, sheltered from the ocean by Ile aux Deux Cocos, with its highly popular public beach lined by filao trees. The exceptional seabed at this marine park, probably the best preserved in Mauritius, can be explored alone with mask and snorkel, with a guide, or in a glass-bottomed boat. The “beware of swimming beyond five metres” sign is to let you know that it drops off suddenly quite near the shore, a rarity in Mauritius.
