The Domaine du Chasseur can be reached on a trail leading inland from the village of Anse Jonchée. After 2km one enters a (900ha) natural sanctuary that is a delight for ecotourists as they make their way through the island’s last primal forest inhabited by deer, wild boar and many native species (such as the Mauritian kestrel, which has only survived through man’s intervention). The programme features quad biking, hunting, cross-country biking, farm-school for children and swimming at the foot of a waterfall.
