This large covered market, on the north side of the Place d’Armes near Chinatown, is bursting with spices, meat, fish, fruits, vegetables and healing herb teas, as well as items made for tourists (textiles, basketwork), all sold by Indians, Creoles and Chinese in an constant racket. Bargaining is a must, and watch out for pickpockets.
