Spend a day visiting the varied attractions of the southern coast of this tropical paradise. Your first stop is Grand Bassin, a lake nestled in the crater of an extinct volcano and considered sacred by the island's Hindu community.
You'll then head to the village of Bois Cheri, encircled by tea plantations. Visit the tea factory to taste the various aromas of local teas. Get an insight into the cultivation of vanilla at the Saint Aubin Sugar Estate. Sample vanilla rum, then enjoy a traditional lunch on the estate.
While away the afternoon strolling through the tropical valley of La Vanille nature reserve, home to crocodiles and giant tortoises, leaving you feeling at one with nature.
