On the gorgeous 8km stretch of coast between Pointe de Flacq and Trou d’Eau Douce, you can’t miss immense Belle Mare Beach, great for swimming and windsurfing. It’s very popular with Mauritians, who come for the day and sometimes spend the night under the stars after a barbecue. Farther south, shallow sandy coves and basalt rocks are the magnificent setting for Palmar Beach, where shades of turquoise and black ripple through the crystalline water.
