For a lively experience, check out the covered market near the harbour (on Wednesdays and, better yet, on Saturdays from 4am). Rodriguans hurry here before daybreak, sometimes coming on foot from far away, to buy colourful fruits and vegetables, rare imported goods, as well as fresh fish and a bit of meat. Sellers hawk their wares to passersby amidst much bargaining. All the fresh produce is gone by 7am, so it's best to arrive early.
