The lovely Plaza de Armas, and its gazebo where concerts are regularly held, is lined on the east by a vast Baroque building completed in the 18C. The main reason to visit the Government Palace are the frescoes it contains by the famous muralist José Clemente Orozco (1883-1949). Note theHidalgo Incendiero, El Circo Politico and Las Fuerzas Tenebrosas in the Main staircase. They are signed by the artist and rich in historical significance.
