La Enseñanza Church belonged to the convent of a female order founded by Benito de Nurcia and St. Ignacio de Loyola, whose statues decorate the façade. The central part of the doorway is quite original with its wavy motifs. Inside, on either side of the “flashy” high altar dedicated to the Virgen del Pilar, those who were professed could attend services hidden behind the bars of a double coro bajo (lower choir) under huge paintings illustrating the Assumption and Immaculate Conception.
