Museo Nacional de San Carlos Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

European paintings have pride of place at the Museo Nacional de San Carlos, housed in a Neoclassical building built between 1798 and 1805 by Manuel Tolsá. Paintings by Zurbarán (Cena de Emaús), Goya, Van Dyke and Ingres (the Infant St John the Baptist) punctuate the collections, covering 500 years of painting from the 14C to the early 20C. Temporary exhibitions.
