Teotihuacán: Pyramid of the Sun Highly Recommended Highly Recommended Highly Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

The Pyramid of the Sun, the largest ancient building on the American continent (65m high with 225m sides), gets its name from its position relative to the sun’s orbit. It was built above a spring, making it perhaps a symbolic mother-mountain. A temple probably stood at the top of the stairs, which narrow progressively to accentuate the perspective. On solstices and equinoxes the summit attracts thousands of followers of various spiritual movements, who come from around the world to draw on the cosmic energy they sense in this place.
