Uxmal : Pirámide del Adivino Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

The first structure you walk around has striking round edges, an aspect that evokes the Río Bec style from the southern part of the peninsula. The Pirámide del Adivino, the highest building in Uxmal, boasts a great steep staircase lined with Chaac masks rising up to the first temple. Its elaborate ornamentation features a monster’s gaping maw imitating the older Chenes style. The double staircase higher up leads to a wider, more recent temple. These represent two different phases in the construction of the pyramid.
