Xochitécatl, a sanctuary historically linked to Cacaxtla, stands on a hill (a former volcano). Its Pyramid of Flowers was dedicated to fertility deities, attested by the numerous female figurines found here (displayed in the museum), in particular pregnant women. The view from the top of the pyramid extends over nearby Cacaxtla, the volcano of La Malinche and all the way to the volcanoes of Anáhuac, Popocatépetl and Ixtaccíhuatl.
