The convent road stretching from Tepozteco to Popocatépetl is dotted with temples built in the 16C by the mendicant orders. The Yecapixtla temple, sheltered by protective walls worthy of a fortress and capable of resisting attacks and earthquakes, is done in a plateresque style blended with indigenous influences.
