After crossing the asif Tamrhakht northeast of Agadir, the road suddenly plunges in-between the high walls of a shady and cool tributary valley. It runs along the river, whose clear green waters flow past rocks and clusters of palm trees. Leaving the bottom of the gorge, the road overlooks it briefly before reaching a well-watered plateau with a string of palm groves. The many villages hugging the slopes have houses with flat roofs.
