Bordering the Atlantic Ocean north of El-Jadida, Azemmour lives from the sale of agricultural products grown in the region. It has also acquired a growing cultural aura due the vitality of the many artists it has attracted, and benefits from its excellent seaside location. Its chaotic past linked to various forms of domination is now behind it. With its beach made for rest and relaxation (Haouzia seaside centre), well-preserved ramparts, and pretty houses lining the Oum er-Rbia River, Azemmour has quite a few assets.
