Hassan II Mosque, whose minaret reaches 200m, was partly built on the seaside (1987-1993). The site’s 9ha, which can hold no less than 100 000 of the faithful, boast spaces devoted to worship and others to culture (such as the library and museum). But it is the prayer hall that is the most impressive, due to its size (2ha) and pure decoration. Taken as a whole it is a masterpiece.
