Get a lesson in two of Morocco's most renowned arts – carpet making and pottery – and visit some of the city's famous sights on this unique half-day tour of Fez.
After being picked up from riad Yacout, head into the medina to explore the heart of the city. Founded at the beginning of the 9th century, and barely changed since, Fez has been a seat of government, philosophy, medicine and religion ever since. This is the best surviving example of an ancient Arab city, with its new' city being established in the 12th century, and its 2,000-year-old medina still working as the centre of the city. Here, donkeys and mules laden with goods still trawl alongside buyers through the ancient market and its web of streets.
Get an energy boost from a super-strong local coffee enjoyed at a medina café, then visit the famous tanneries. These brightly coloured honeycomb vats are a must-see in the city, so snap that quintessential photo before heading back into the souqs to try your hand at bargaining.
After admiring the wealth of ceramics on offer, try making your own at a workshop. Fez is known for its unique cobalt blue Fassi ceramics, so learn about how the intricate patterns are made and try your hand at reproducing some of the century-old designs.
Next, it's on to a carpet workshop, to learn more about the fine quality of carpets made in the city. Learn about the intricate process involved in making each carpet, and discover how to pick a good quality rug, while you work a traditional loom. This workshop is guaranteed to give you a better appreciation for the work involved in making Moroccan carpets. Your tour of Fez will end at a central place, where you can easily make your way back into the souq or back to your hotel.
Includes
- Coffee with the locals
- Ceramics workshop
- Carpet workshop
- English Speaking Guide

Please Note

Long, light-colored, and lightweight sleeved shirts, trousers, and skirts are proper and comfortable.
