Skoura : Michelin's recommendations

This oasis, north of Ouarzazate in the Dadès Valley, is appealing for its vegetation (palm trees are back in the landscape here), its wonderful noble kasbahs hidden behind the greenery or standing out against the dazzling backdrop of the high mountains. Be sure to ask the way to the magnificently decorated Amerhidil kasbah. Beyond Skoura the road nears the artificial lake of El Mansour Eddahbi dam, built on the Drâa River. It irrigates 14,000ha of crops and 800,0000 palm trees, creating an oasis that is almost uninterrupted all the way to Mhamid.
