A continuation of Dar el Makhzen, Bit el Mâl was once the treasure house of Tangier, as can be seen by the chests that contained its precious subsidies. The elegance of the exterior is equalled by the inside with its rich domes, fine columns, mashrabiyas, and gilding. An excellent introduction to the Kasbah Museum!
