The painter Ferdinand Bol, a pupil of Rembrandt and a famous portrait-painter, was the tenant of this house, which belonged to shop-keeper Van Raey. The painter's family later acquired the building and turned it into a museum. The décor in the house is very attractive, as are the artist's paintings. Particularly fine are the superb stair-rail (latter half of the 18th Century) in interlacing copper, and the French style garden that is like a miniature park.
