A masterpiece by D Marot, the superb wrought-iron gateway formerly granted access to the terrace (flanked by two sandstone statues symbolising the rivers bordering the Veluwe), which has a fine view over the four gardens: the lower garden with flower beds; the upper garden with king’s fountain symbolising the power of William III; the king’s garden where blue and orange prevail; and the queen’s garden planted in pastel tones and with fruit trees.
